Last year Philips and carpet manufacturer Desso announced a collaboration to jointly develop a programmable LED emitting carpet. Recently, the two companies released this technology in the UK Clerkenwell Design Week officially.
Philips and Desso embedded LED emitting element in lichtleitend carpet, besides having the ordinary carpet function, it can also display a variety of customized images, such as important information and direction, similar to a traditional bulletin board. The display technology will not be affected by pedestrians who work on the display surface.
